The automotive sector is one of the largest markets in the world
This sector, enormous in its industrial presence, is also a very large sales market. This is why it is subject to constant technological innovations.
New technologies are therefore the domain par excellence of sector innovation with connectivity, driving automation, shared mobility and electrification.
Despite the automotive paradigm shift pushing towards electrification or hydrogen, investments continue for the internal combustion engine, which is still being made less polluting, and safety is not neglected.
Products are now brought to market more quickly, yet the pace of innovation is accelerating, all due to the sector’s high competitiveness and the need to optimise costs.
After the Covid crisis, investments by certain states in the sector to enter the electric market were enormous — the development of electric (and hydrogen) technologies does not lack resources.
Even some digital giants are joining the race for electric, even autonomous vehicles. Tesla is worth far more than the entire thermal sector combined.
No choice remains — to stay in the race, traditional manufacturers and their suppliers strive to master their value chain: relocation of strategic productions and internalisation of software development.
